Compensation: $70,000 – $80,000 / year + 2 weeks paid vacation

We’re opening a new, year-round café and market on Martha’s Vineyard centered around great coffee, fresh bread, and seasonal food. The bakery will be an essential part of the space — producing a daily selection of breads, croissants, pastries, and simple sweets that reflect care, skill, and a sense of place.
Position SummaryWe’re seeking a Baker to lead our bread and pastry program from the ground up. This is a hands-on position ideal for someone with experience in laminated doughs, naturally leavened breads, and seasonal pastry. You’ll oversee daily production, maintain consistency, and collaborate with ownership and the chef to bring thoughtful baked goods to life.
ResponsibilitiesProduce breads, pastries, and laminated doughs to a high standard of quality
Develop and test new recipes based on seasonality and menu needs
Manage baking schedules, proofing, and inventory
Maintain consistency, cleanliness, and organization in the bakery
Train and supervise bakery staff as the team grows
Work collaboratively with the kitchen and coffee teams
3–5+ years of professional bakery experience
Skilled in laminated doughs, breads, and pastries
Strong attention to detail and commitment to consistency
Organized, efficient, and comfortable working independently
Excited to relocate to and live year-round on Martha’s Vineyard
$70,000 – $80,000 annual salary (commensurate with experience)
