We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Controller to oversee our financial operations and ensure accurate financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in accounting, financial analysis, and team leadership to drive our organization's financial success and compliance.

What You'll Do:
Maintain a current documented system of accounting policies and procedures ∙ Oversee the operations of the accounting department and staff members ∙ Oversee the government contracting processes and procedures coordinating closely with project managers and other members of management to ensure compliance with DCAA and other requirements ∙ Manage the accuracy and productivity of day-to-day activities of accounts payable, cash disbursements, invoicing/billing, customer credits and collections, payroll, perpetual inventory integrity, fixed asset records, general accounting, and cost accounting. ∙ Ensure that accounts payable are paid in an accurate and timely manner & in accordance with requisite schedules to include all reasonable discounts are taken on accounts payable items ∙ Accounts receivables are collected promptly in accordance with contractual schedules and identify as well as resolve issues ∙ Ensure that payroll is processed in an accurate and timely manner ∙ Ensure that bank reconciliations are completed monthly and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner ∙ Ensure that required debt payments are made on a timely basis and not subject to penalties ∙ Maintain the chart of accounts to accurately reflect business requirements ∙ Maintain an orderly and up to date accounting electronic & hard copy filing system for prompt records retrieval ∙ Maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions in accordance with standard operating procedures and best practices ∙ Prepare and submit the required government contracting billing, and other monthly, quarterly and annual reporting requirements to the appropriate parties. ∙ Issue timely, complete, and accurate financial statements to management with variances to budget identified and explained ∙ Recommend benchmarks against which to measure the performance of company  operations ∙ Coordinate the necessary involvement and information to manage the production of the annual budget in a collaborative and timely fashion ∙ Coordinate the provision of accurate information to the external accounting firm for annual tax return preparation ∙ Ensure that all transactions comply with local, state and federal government and regulatory agencies reporting and tax requirements at all times including: ∙ Provide financial analyses, as deemed necessary by management ∙ Other duties as assigned

What We're Looking For:
∙ BS in Accounting required ∙10-12 years progressive accounting experience with a minimum of 3 years as a Controller ∙ Strong knowledge and application of GAAP ∙ Previous government contracting experience, FAR/DFAR, and DoD regulations ∙ Knowledge of multiple contract types (T&M, CPFF, FFP) and the applicable revenue recognition policies ∙ Strong working knowledge of cost accounting standards, indirect and direct cost allocations, projected/provisional rates formulation ∙ Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel ∙ Previous payroll experience ∙ Demonstrated ability to communicate with all levels of the organization ∙ Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities & projects in a professional manner ∙ Ability to motivate and manage a team of accounting staff to ensure that the operations are smooth, collaborative, and effective ∙ Strong attention to detail and accuracy ∙ QuickBooks experience preferred ∙ Manufacturing experience preferred
