Experienced 911 Dispatchers — Part-Time Opportunities
Harris County | Openwork Staffing | Up to 32 hrs/week
Location: Southside Houston (On-Site)

Openwork Staffing is seeking skilled, TCOLE-certified 911 Dispatchers to support Harris County public safety operations in a part-time capacity. This position is ideal for trained professionals who know how to manage emergency communications with precision and are ready to continue serving the community in a critical role.

We are looking for dispatchers who already understand the pace, the pressure, and the responsibility of the work. If you’ve been in the seat — and you’re ready to stay sharp — this is the role built for you.

What You’ll Handle:

• Answer, evaluate, and process 911 and non-emergency calls.
• Dispatch units and coordinate responses with law enforcement agencies.
• Operate CAD technology for call tracking and field support.
• Conduct warrant and identity queries via TCIC/NCIC and OpenFox.
• Manage multiple tasks while maintaining accuracy and composure.

You’ll operate at the front line of communication — where clarity, split-second judgment, and calm matter most.

What You Must Bring:

This role is for experienced dispatch professionals only.

• TCOLE Basic Telecommunicator Certification.
• Minimum 2 years of law enforcement dispatch experience.
• Current CPR certification.
• High School Diploma or GED.

Preferred:

• CAD, TCIC/NCIC & OpenFox familiarity
• Bilingual English/Spanish ability
• Proven efficiency in high-pressure situations

Compensation & Schedule:

• Starting at $22/hr — higher pay offered based on experience, skill level, and certifications.
• Up to 32 hours per week.
• Part-time availability including weekends, holidays, and fill-in shifts.
• Temporary assignment with potential for ongoing placement.
• Work is on-site at Harris County’s communications facility in Southside Houston.
