HR Manager (Remote - Monthly In-Person in Edison, NJ)

Location: Remote (with once-monthly meetups in Edison, NJ)

Pay ranges : $60,000/year to $80,000/year

Job Type: Full time and Permanent

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and proactive HR Manager to join our team. This position is primarily remote, with required monthly meetups at our Edison, NJ office. The HR Manager will play a key role in supporting our internal team and client-facing HR operations, ensuring compliance, fostering employee engagement, and enhancing performance through best HR practices.

In this role, you will also manage a team of two offshore HR professionals , providing guidance, oversight, and coordination to ensure HR processes are carried out effectively across global operations.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, especially with previous experience in staffing, consulting, or deployed services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Performance Management:
    Lead the annual review process, goal-setting, and ongoing employee performance initiatives.
  • Benefits Administration:
    Manage enrollment, renewals, employee inquiries, and vendor relationships for health, dental, vision, and other benefits.
  • Onboarding & Compliance:
    Oversee employee onboarding processes, ensure documentation compliance, and manage background checks and employment verifications.
  • Employee Relations:
    Serve as a trusted point of contact for employee concerns, conflict resolution, and workplace investigations.
  • Internal Recruiting:
    Manage internal hiring processes for corporate roles; collaborate with department heads to identify hiring needs and develop job descriptions.
  • Client HR Advisory:
    Provide guidance and best practices to clients on HR issues including compliance, employee relations, and workforce policies.
  • Team Management:

    Directly supervise and support a team of two offshore HR resources , ensuring alignment with U.S. HR practices and efficient global coordination.
  • Payroll & 401(k) Support:
    Assist the Finance team with payroll processing and 401(k) plan administration as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressive HR experience; prior experience in the staffing or deployed services environment is a strong plus.
  • Experience leading or managing team members, including remote or offshore teams.
  • Knowledge of HR laws and regulations (FMLA, ADA, FLSA, etc.)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to build rapport across diverse teams and cultures.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite. UKG Ready experience is a strong plus.
  • Mandarin language skills are a strong plus but not required.
