Job Description

General Insulation Company is excited to announce the availability of a new position within our dynamic sales team. We are currently seeking a motivated and dedicated individual to join us as an Outside Sales Representative. This full-time position offers a unique opportunity to be a part of a thriving team while contributing to the growth and success of our company. As this is not a remote job, the ideal candidate will be expected to work on-site, interacting directly with prospective and existing clients to drive our business objectives.

The successful applicant will be responsible for representing General Insulation Company within the assigned territory, working closely with clients to understand their needs and how our products can meet those needs. This role demands a proactive approach to establish and nurture long-lasting business relationships, ensuring the highest levels of customer satisfaction and operational excellence.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain relationships and provide excellent customer service for existing customers, ensuring their needs are met with professionalism and courtesy.
  • Identify and target potential new customers, employing a hunter mentality to secure new accounts and expand the company's market presence.
  • Conduct regular visits to clients and potential customers, presenting product solutions and services tailored to their specific needs.
  • Provide product pricing, literature, safety data documentation, and all related materials to existing and prospective clients, keeping them informed and engaged with our product offerings.
  • Analyze market trends and customer needs to effectively recommend new products or modifications to existing products.
  • Prepare and deliver sales presentations that are clear, informative, and tailored to audiences, promoting the strengths of our product lineup.
  • Negotiate contracts and close agreements, ensuring that all aspects of the contract are clear and mutually beneficial.
  • Collaborate with the customer support team to ensure post-sale services and support are provided smoothly and efficiently, enhancing customer satisfaction.
  • Communicate pertinent sales and market information to Branch Manager, Operations Manager and Inside Sales Representative. 
  • Participate in industry or promotional events (trade shows) to cultivate customer relationships and increase exposure to potential markets.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.

  • A hunter mentality, with keen instincts for finding and securing new sales opportunities.
  • Ability to travel across the assigned territory.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the capability to build and maintain professional relationships.
  • Entry-level sales candidates are encouraged to apply
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines.
  • A self-motivated attitude, capable of working independently without constant supervision
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
