GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

Join our team at the Wyoming State Hospital and fulfill your passion for serving others and making a difference in your community while starting a state government career. This position provides psychiatric services in an inpatient hospital setting for an adult population in collaboration with other healthcare professionals. Evanston is a small Rocky Mountain community that is a 45-minute drive from Park City Utahs world-famous ski slopes. Evanston is excellent for recreational activities such as hiking camping fishing biking snowmobiling and cross-country skiing.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The listed functions are illustrative only and are not intended to describe every function which may be performed in the job level.

  • Provide psychiatric assessment diagnosis and treatment to patients in a hospital setting.
  • Provide ongoing psychiatric assessments and treatment to patients.
  • Participate in a multi-disciplinary treatment team.
  • Perform on-call clinical coverage as needed and directed by the hospital medical director.
  • Maintain all appropriate paperwork required for patient care in a timely manner.
  • Assist in follow-up planning for the discharge of patients.
  • Maintain an active role in updating treatment plans.
  • Participate in committees and perform administrative duties as directed by the medical director.

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE:

  • Knowledge of psychopharmacology medication side effects risks and benefits.
  • Knowledge of diagnostic criteria for psychiatric illness.
  • Knowledge of how co-morbid conditions (medical and neurological conditions substance
  • use intellectual limitations) can affect psychiatric diagnosis and treatment.
  • Knowledge of the guidelines rules and regulations regarding prescribing practices.
  • Knowledge of federal state laws governing psychiatric practice.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:


Education:

As required by Wyoming State Licensing Board

Certificates Licenses Registrations:

Must be licensed or eligible for licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse or a Psychiatric/Mental Health Nurse Practitioner by the Wyoming Board of Nursing.

Necessary Special Requirements


PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:

Ability to bend lift twist push pull etc. as would be expected to provide patient care and treatment in the clinic and
hospital settings.
