Job Description

Job Summary:  Eurofins Viral Safety is seeking an entry level  Associate Scientist  to join their team in Lancaster, PA.

Hours:  Monday - Friday 8am-5pm

Job duties include, but are not limited to:

• Perform aseptic tissue culture techniques such as expansion and seeding of adherent and suspension tissue culture lines, including numerous mammalian and insect culture cell lines.
• Perform common lab skills include microscopy, aseptic media preparation, mechanical pipetting, serial dilution preparations, and basic calculations including the use of Excel spreadsheets.
• Perform virology techniques including inoculation of tissue culture systems with various model viruses, plaque assays, focus assays, and other secondary techniques such as hemagglutination/hemadsorption assays and immunofluorescence staining
• Review and evaluate raw data for acceptability
• Set up and validate new analytical or related processes used by the department
• Document work as required for GMP compliance

• Bachelor's degree in biology, molecular or cell biology, or-related field or other related degree concentration,
• Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship
• Excellent communication (oral and written) and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude
• Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies 

Additional Information

Working schedule can be either Full-Time, First Shift, Monday-Friday 8am-5pm with overtime as needed. Candidates  currently living within a commutable distance of Lancaster, PA are encouraged to apply. 25% travel may be required. This position is  NOT remote.
